Biography
Welcome to my biography. My name is Cheryl Collins Conway. I share a family with Major Conway. We are the parents of two beautiful daughters, Crinicia and Crislyn. One grand daughter, Charleigh. I was born in Adams county to Ozella Collins and Seth B Knight. I am the eldest of my siblings. We were raised in Jefferson county. I earned my diploma in 1993 from Jefferson County High School. My undergraduate major at Alcorn State University was Industrial Technology (2001). Now in graduate school, I began and completed the Technology Education program but changed majors and earned the Master's of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education (2004) to certify as "highly qualified" teacher. I was employed with the Natchez-Adams School District in 2002 to teach at Natchez High. Within the district, I have been assigned to Natchez High, Natchez Early College, Natchez Freshman, and Ombudsman. Next, because of my interest in wanting to come on board in curriculum and administration and to better understand the impact of students and teachers behavior during the instructional day; and how I could contribute to the academic community, the body of leadership and make a difference while impacting the lives of students; I enrolled and completed, the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in (2010) from University of Phoenix. "Staff Perceptions of Master Schedules and Organizational Behavior in Secondary Schools" was published UMI 3468125. My journey to National Board Certification in Early Adolescence began in 2016-2017. My status is "in-progress". Wish me luck! Finally, I will share that I am the owner of APLUSEDD (2018), private tutor/mentor/consultant, 7-12 mathematics, ACT Prep, and mentor for GED candidates located in Fayette, MS. It is with great honor to have served the stakeholders of the Natchez-Adams community for over 16 years. NASD, thank you for giving me my opportunity to lift up service in education.
