The Natchez-Adams School District will host its 2nd Annual Anti-Bullying Summit on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Natchez High School Auditorium. The summit will begin at 9:00 a.m. with registration from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
The General Assembly will begin with greetings from school and elected officials as well as clergy. Ms. Zandra McDonald, Deputy Superintendent, will review the Natchez-Adams School District's Bullying Policy. Students from Natchez Freshman Academy will present a skit under the direction of Language Arts Instructor Chameiko Miller.
Students grades K-12 will engage in break-out sessions focusing on bullying/cyberbullying, gang-related violence, peer-pressure, suicide and teen pregnancy/domestic violence.
Members of the community along with the Police and Sheriff’s Department will facilitate the break-out sessions. The Natchez Fire Department along with Smokey Bear will be on hand to reinforce anti-bullying with the younger students.
School officials will introduce the NASD See Something, Say Something Initiative during the summit. Students and community members will be able to anonymously report bullying and suspicious activity by calling 662-876-0637 or emailing [email protected].
All sessions will end at 2:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided. The public is invited to attend.
