Bryant was named to the Mississippi Teacher Council last year. MTC provides a venue for teachers to become advocates for their profession through input into the decision-making process. It also empowers teachers to discuss topics that are critical to their success in the classroom and how the Mississippi Department of Education can assist.
She learned early on that teaching was her divine calling. "I love working with these young people, and the supplies motivate them to keep going each day", said Bryant. She helps her students to succeed by providing basic school supplies and her personal story. In addition to common objects like extra pencils, paper and notebooks, you can also see posters displayed in her classroom that say things like, "There is no elevator to success. You'll have to climb the stairs." Students even come to her before other classes for pencils or paper for the day.
Natchez High School, will receive hard copies from Mississippi State, the entity producing the magazine. Thanks Mrs. Bryant for having a lasting impact on the growth and success of our students not only as scholars but as human beings.
