McLaurin 3rd and 4th Grade Students Reflect on Black History

With February being Black History Month,3rd grade teacher Delequa Drake says it's important for her students to know about the significance African Americans hold in our nation's history. "I want my kids to know who they are, and where they came from," Drake says.

Students were asked to choose one iconic African American figure to research and prepare a poster presentation on. Students displayed their art and creativity by hanging their posters on the walls so staff and students could see and also remember the importance of the history of African Americans.
