Freshman Academy Proudly Recognizes the Students of the Month for August

The Student of the Month Program at Natchez Freshman Academy recognizes students for academic achievement, character, and leadership. Students are nominated by teachers and must be diligent, show a strong effort to learn, and a willingness to do their very best to create a positive school environment.

“The Student of the Month Program here at Freshman Academy celebrates student achievement by creating a culture of learning that values academic success, as well as elevates awareness of student contributions,” said Larry Hooper, Principal. “It is a privilege to have such fine students in our school.”

Avery Weadock was nominated by her Physical Education teacher, Coach Kevin Campbell. Campbell nominated her based on her qualities of being a leader, an active participate in classroom activities, and for the encouragement she gives her classmates.

The program was initiated by Freshman Counselor Naomi Walton. “Every month, we want to award our most successful students and hope others are encouraged to work hard, be respectful, and be responsible students,” said Walton. She presented each student with a certificate that included a list of the characteristics that made their teachers nominate them as a student of the month. With the assistance of Mrs. Hope Craft, students were treated to a pizza lunch.
