Middle School Students-Moving up And Moving On

Morgantown Middle School and Robert Lewis Magnet School staff celebrated students with a drive-thru awards presentation. The drive-thru began with sixth grade from noon to 12:30 p.m. and seventh grade from 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Transitioning eighth-graders took the last slot from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. One by one, decorated cars carrying students slowly crept up to the front of the school to receive their certificates, gifts, and awards. They were greeted with cheering teachers, balloons, music, and signs.

Staff, parents, and students have had to navigate the challenges posed by Covid-19. Graduations and celebrations have been disrupted during this time. Though it’s been a tricky, demanding year, we can still celebrate students' accomplishments.

Morgantown Middle School celebrated with music by DJ Travanti Hill. A parent at Robert Lewis Magnet School presented the staff with a sweet treat with a note attached “hope you have a sweet summer.”
