Suicide Prevention Week at Morgantown Middle School 2019

Suicide Prevention Week

September 9-14 is National Suicide Prevention Week.  This week is set aside to raise awareness of this National Epidemic which affects youths ages 10-14 and youths ages 15-22 in alarming numbers.  Here at Morgantown, students participated in a guidance lesson on suicide prevention.  During the lesson, students learned the warning signs and risk factors for suicide.  Students responded in writing on what it means to  #BeThere for someone and help them through a difficult time.   Our student leaders made morning announcements about suicide prevention and the students signed pledges.  If you or anyone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please use the National Suicide Hotline, 1-800-273-TALK or text HELP to 741-741.  Always remember you are alive for a reason so don't ever give up!  #BeThere
